East Tennessee State University Athletic Training Philosophy

The main premise of the ETSU athletic training room is that we care. This may be a simple idea, but we truly care about our profession and the student-athletes. It is the philosophy of the sports medicine staff that all student=athletes will be treated fairly and ethically regardless of sport, age, gender, race, color, or religion. In addition, the sports medicine staff will provide the best possible medical care within the confines of the resources that are available. Respect will be given to all, and the same will be expected in return.

Our primary goal is to always put the health and welfare of the athlete first. The sports medicine staff will return all injured and ill athletes to participation as soon as the athlete is medically fit to participate without causing further harm.
