JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb.19, 2004) - Fans of East Tennessee State University men's basketball will have plenty of opportunities to watch their favorite team over the next two weeks, as all three of the Buccaneers remaining regular season games will be broadcast locally.
Saturday's game wth Fresno State will tip at 3 p.m. (EST) on WAPK, the UPN affiliate in the Tri-Cities. Meanwhile, the Bucs final home game of the season versus Chattanooga game will appear on Fox Sports Net South at 7 p.m., and the Feb. 28 game at College of Charleston will air on ESPN2 with gametime set for 7 p.m.
In addition, if the Bucs progress through the entire Southern Conference Tournament, they will
appear on television twice. The SoCon semifinals will air on WAPK, while the championship game will air on ESPN. In all, this means that possibly five of the Bucs final six games of the season will be televised.
"We think it's important for the promotion of our program that our fans be able to watch our team play," said ETSU Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dave Mullins. "We've had an incredibly strong season and there is a lot of excitement around the entire athletic program right now. Having these games on television is just another indication of the positive steps we are taking in ETSU athletics."
