JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 19, 2003) - Coming off a 2002-2003 season that saw the East Tennessee State men's basketball team win its third-straight Southern Conference North Division title, the SoCon Tournament championship, and make a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 seasons, the Buccaneers will start a new chapter this weekend when they open their much-anticipated 2003-04 with a road swing through Texas.
The Bucs will take on Conference USA foe Houston to open the season on Friday, Nov. 21 at 8:30 p.m. (EST), and will then travel to Lubbock, Tex., to take on Coach Bob Knight's Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be carried live on the radio as the Buccaneer Sports Network and the "Voice of the Bucs" Jay Sandos will describe all the action beginning one hour before game time with the Buccaneer Tipoff Pre-game Show.
In addition to the radio broadcast, fans will be able to watch the Texas Tech game on television, as WAPK-TV, UPN Channel 36 will carry the game live. Fans with Charter Cable should tune in to channel 6 and those with Comcast Cable can see the game on channel 15.
