JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 11, 2007) - ETSU men's basketball coach Murry Bartow has announced that his Buccaneers will add one final road contest to their 2007-08 schedule, visiting Big 12 Conference member Oklahoma State on Dec. 8. In addition, the Bucs have moved their Nov. 30 meeting with Tennessee Wesleyan to Dec. 1.
The Bucs and Cowboys will meet at 8 p.m. in Stillwater, and the game will be the first of a daunting three-game stretch for the Bucs, which will include a trip to Syracuse on Dec. 15, followed by a meeting with Georgia in the first round of the Rainbow Classic on Dec. 20.
"This gives us another marquee opponent and a chance for our players to play in one of the toughest, most unique arenas in the country," said Bartow, whose team is coming off a 24-10 season in which they won the Atlantic Sun Conference regular season championship and earned a trip to the NIT. "We're trying to play in some tough environments on the road to better prepare us for our conference schedule and postseason play.
"It's certainly the most challenging early season schedule we've had in my five years here."
