Johnson City, Tenn. - East Tennessee State's men's basketball team has signed a recruit to a national letter of intent to attend ETSU and play basketball for the Bucs next season head coach Ed DeChellis announced today. Howard Bridgers of Wilson, N.C. signed on with the Bucs earlier today. Bridgers, a 6-6, 215-lb. forward, plays his prep ball at Beddingfield High School. Last season he averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds a game for coach Lin Green's squad, leading the team to a conference title. He was named the conference and area Player of the Year for his efforts. "We are thrilled to have Howard Bridgers join our program," said DeChellis. Howard is a 6-6, thick, strong post guy that we feel can step in a help us and play right away. He comes from a great family and is a great student as well. He is the kind of person, player and student-athlete we are looking for here at East Tennessee State.
