All-conference forward Zakee Wadood leads the Bucs into SoCon Tournament play tomorrow against Wofford

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Mar. 5, 2003) - The East Tennessee State Buccaneer men's basketball team will begin their pursuit of the 2003 Southern Conference Tournament Championship against Wofford, Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, S.C. ETSU (17-10, 11-5 SoCon), the No. 2 seed in the North Division, will face the Terriers (14-14, 8-8 SoCon), the No. 3 seed in the South, in the quarterfinals of the tournament after Wofford defeated UNC Greensboro, 77-73 in the first round of the tournament earlier this afternoon. Thursday's game will be broadcast on the Buccaneer Sports Network with play-by-play by Jay Sandos. An internet radio broadcast is also available through the Southern Conference website, www.soconsports.com. Should the Buccaneers advance to the tournament semifinals on Friday, they will face either College of Charleston, the No. 1 seed in the South or Georgia Southern, the No. 5 seed in the South at 6:00 p.m. The game would be televised on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) and regionally on the Tri-Cities UPN, WAPK-TV.
