HONOLULU (Dec. 30, 2003) - East Tennessee State University senior Jerald Fields (Gainesville, Fla.) was named to the Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team late Tuesday evening following the championship game of the annual tournament at the Stan Sheriff Coliseum on the campus of the University of Hawaii. Fields scored 18 points in the Buccaneers' first two tournament games, including a double-double effort against IUPUI in the first round (18 points, 10 rebounds). For the tournament, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 13 points and seven rebounds a game. Currently, Fields ranks third on the team in scoring (12.2 ppg) and second in rebounding (6.0), and he joined the ETSU 1,000-point club against Tennessee Tech on Dec. 17. He now stands at 1,056 points for his career and is currently 20th on the Bucs' all-time scoring list. The Bucs (8-4) will land at Tri-Cities Airport at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening and begin preparations to return to Southern Conference play on Saturday at Furman. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m.
