MACON, Ga. (Feb. 10, 2014) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Monday that ETSU junior guard Jalen Riley (Racine, Wis.) has been named the league’s newcomer of the week. It is the second time this year he has earned that honor.

Riley certainly played well last week, setting a career high with 30 points in the win over Lipscomb on Feb. 8, while adding a 16-point effort earlier in the week in the victory over Northern Kentucky on Feb. 6. For the week, Riley averaged 23 points per game, while shooting a remarkable 61 percent from the field and 60 percent from 3-point range.

Thanks to the play of Riley and the rest of his Buccaneer teammates, ETSU now finds itself tied for third place in the A-Sun standings with USC Upstate, who the Bucs will face tonight at 7 p.m. inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.
