JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 5, 2015) – Former East Tennessee State University men’s basketball player Rashawn Rembert (Tampa, Fla.) was selected in the NBA’s D-League Draft Saturday. Rembert will play for the Iowa Energy this season. The Energy, which is an affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, selected the former Buccaneer sharpshooter with the third pick in the second round.

Rembert was a two-time all-league selection during his career for the Blue and Gold, including an All-SoCon nod as a senior. The Tampa, Fla. native is 12th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,326 points and second in program history with 260 three-pointers made.

Rembert’s junior season was his best as he broke the school record with 108 makes beyond the arc, which not only helped him lead the team in scoring (16.8 point per game) but also take home First Team All-Atlantic Sun honors.
