JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 26, 2016) – Having won eight of its last nine games and sitting atop the Southern Conference standings, the ETSU men’s basketball team cracked the Mid-Major Top 25 poll on Monday evening, making the list at No. 24.

The Buccaneers are currently 13-7 overall, 6-1 in Southern Conference play, and find themselves one spot ahead of league rival and No. 25 Mercer. ETSU is one of only three SoCon teams currently listed in the Top 25, with Chattanooga also making the poll.

“Being recognized as one of the Top 25 mid-major programs in the country is a credit to our student-athlete’s hard work and the support of our loyal fans,” said ETSU head coach Steve Forbes. “It shows me we are improving and heading in the right direction with a lot of important games left to be played.”

ETSU will return to action this Thursday night as they begin a daunting four-game road swing at defending SoCon champion Wofford. Tip is set for 7 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
