JOHNSON CITY (Aug. 22, 2016) – ETSU men’s basketball head coach Steve Forbes announced Monday that redshirt freshman Shemar Johnson (Columbus, Miss.) is no longer with the team.

“Being a Buc is a special opportunity and at ETSU we provide our student-athletes with a tremendous experience,” Forbes said. “With that privilege comes accountability and Shemar failed to meet the expectations I have to be a player in our program. I wish him the best now and in the future.”

Johnson, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound guard from New Hope High School, sat out last season as a redshirt and would have had four years of eligibility.
