JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 29, 2016) – The last week has been a good one for the ETSU men’s basketball team, as the Bucs won three straight games at the Samford Pentagon Showcase to improve to 5-1 on the season.

For their efforts, the Bucs reaped rewards on Tuesday, with senior guard T.J. Cromer (Albany, Ga.) being named CollegeSportsMadness.com’s SoCon Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while the Bucs moved up from No. 22 to No. 9 in the most recent CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.

Cromer was named MVP of the Sanford Pentagon Showcase after posting three double-digit scoring efforts, including a 22-point performance in the win over hometown favorite South Dakota State. Cromer also posted a total of 13 assists on the weekend, including a six-assist showing in the win over Milwaukee. Over three games in South Dakota, Cromer averaged 15.7 points a game.

Meanwhile, as a team, the Bucs are now 5-1 on the season and off to one of the program’s best starts in recent memory.
