ASHEVILLE, N.C. (March 11, 2019) -- ETSU junior guard Tray Boyd III (Memphis, Tenn.) landed a spot on the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team as the awards were released on Monday night following the conclusion of the tournament.
Boyd averaged 17.0 points and shot 52 percent from the field (14-27) against Chattanooga and then-No. 22 Wofford. The Buccaneer guard also made six three-pointers, while adding four rebounds, four assists, four steals and two blocks in the two tournament games.
Boyd began the tournament with a 21-point effort (9-of-15 shooting) in the quarterfinal win over Chattanooga and then added 13 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds against Wofford in the semifinals.
After connecting on six threes in the tournament, Boyd moved his season total to 80, which is tied for eighth on the ETSU single-season leaders list.
ETSU now awaits postseason news on Sunday night following the release of the NCAA Tournament bracket. The NCAA Selection Show will be announced at 6 p.m. on Sunday with the NIT bracket being released at 8:30 p.m. The CIT and CBI brackets will be announced following those two brackets.
