Greg Surmacz

About Greg: Possesses a soft shooting touch for a big man ... with steady development, will challenge for playing time as a freshman. High School: Averaged 30 points and 14 rebounds as a senior at Peterborough Collegiate High School, led his team to a 39-8 overall record the past two seasons and back-to-back trips to the state semifinals ... his school’s second-leading scorer all-time, Surmacz is a member of the Canadian Junior National Team. Personal: Born May 13, 1985 ... son of Fred and Atlantis Surmacz ... expects to major in either sports medicine, management or kinesiology. Coach Bartow’s evaluation: "Greg will certainly add to our inside game, but he also has the ability to float out and hit shots. He had a great prep career in Canada and we think he has a bright future here."
