Curtis Wilkinson
About Curtis: A player who is just now reaching his potential after not playing organized basketball until late in his high school career … extremely athletic and a strong defender … he has the ability to block shots and has a great deal of versatility on both ends of the floor. Prior to ETSU: While playing for San Bernardino Valley College, he was a first-team All-Foothills Conference pick … averaged 11 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks a game while playing 22 minutes as a sophomore … he shot 59 percent from the field and 68 percent from the free throw line … as a freshman, averaged 14 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a game.Personal: Major is Interdisciplinary Studies … son of Curtis Gillis and Vanessa Blakely … born Dec. 26, 1987. Coach Bartow’s evaluation: “We love Curtis’ versatility. He can play on both ends of the floor, while helping both inside and on the perimeter. The amount of upside potential is really great, and his ability to rebound on both ends and block shots is also a huge positive.”
