Donley Earns Southern Conference Cross Country Coaching Honor

LEXINGTON, Va. - East Tennessee State University head coach Milan Donley earned 1999 Southern Conference Women's Cross Country Co-Coach of the Year honors. The award, which Donley shared with Furman's Gene Mullin, was announced at the conference championship on Oct. 30.

Donley led the ETSU women's squad to its first Southern Conference championship since 1985. The Bucs' Catherine Berry (second place) and Val Urchison (fourth place) earned All-Southern Conference honors.

Freshman Kim Hemstreet earned Southern Conference Freshman-of-the-Year honors with her seventh place finish.

On the men's side, Zack Whitmarsh earned All-Southern Conference honors after his team-best seventh-place finish in the Conference championship.
