Johnson City, Tenn. (Mar. 24, 2002) -- East Tennessee State junior men's golfer Adam Riddering (Maple Grove, Minn.) fired a final-round even-par 72 to finish in a tie for ninth at 1-over-par and lead the Bucs to a 12th place finish in the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational, hosted by Georgia Southern University, Sunday afternoon from Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.
East Tennessee State shot a 300 in the final round of the tournament, to finish 23 strokes behind team champion, No. 19-ranked Augusta State (284-285-296=865).
Riddering was very consistent in the weekend tournament, shooting his second-consecutive 72 on Sunday after carding a first-round 73 on Saturday morning. Fellow junior James Johnson (Barbados) also shot a 72 in his Sunday round, good enough for a tie for 12th (72-74-72=218) at 2-over-par, just one stroke behind Riddering. Freshman Jeremy Hobson (Thonotasassa, Fla.) shot a final-round 76 to finish in a tie for 39th (73-74-76=223).
