OWINGS MILLS,
Davies, who just wrapped up his season Friday at the NCAA Championships, enjoyed a 2004-‘05 campaign that will be remembered as one of the greatest in ETSU golf history. He set program records for tournament victories (five), single-round score (63), and three-round score (199), while finishing in the Top 3 in nine of 12 events. He also led the Bucs to their record 17th Southern Conference Championship, earning SoCon Golfer of the Year honors along the way.
A semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award, which is given annually to golf's top amateur player, Davies ended the year ranked No. 2 nationally by Golfweek. He fired 12 rounds in the 60s during the season and led the Bucs with a stroke average of 70.54.
While his collegiate season is now over, Davies will now turn his attention to international play, as he is scheduled to compete for the European team in the Palmer Cup June 8-9 in Wisconsin. Visit ETSUBucs.com for updates on Davies' play throughout the summer months.
