MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 13, 2005) - Freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) fired a 1-under-par 143 Sunday, leading the East Tennessee State University men's golf team to a 7th-place finish after two rounds in the Gen. Jim Hackler Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University at the TPC of Myrtle Beach.

Davies, who was the first-round leader, finished the day tied atop the individual leaderboard with Coastal Carolina's Dustin Johnson and Notre Dame's Shane Sigsbee. Meanwhile, in the team competition, the Bucs are currently tied for 7^th, 18 strokes back of first-place Coastal Carolina.

Along with Davies, other ETSU results included a tie for 15^th by freshman Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) and a 36^th-place effort by senior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales). Freshman Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) and Noel Kavanagh (Westport, Ireland) are currently tied for 49^th and 59^th, respectively.
