WINDERMERE, Fla. (Oct. 21, 2007) - ETSU freshman Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) posted a first round score of 4-under-par 68 to tie for the individual lead with UCF's Greg Forest and USC's Jamie Lovemark after the first day of play Sunday in the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club.

Enoch, who has already posted three sub-70 rounds in his brief collegiate career along with two Top 7 finishes, helped power the Buccaneers to a ninth place standing on the team leaderboard, seven strokes off the pace set by No. 4-ranked Oklahoma State, No. 7 USC and No. 34 UCF, all of which tied for the team lead at 4-under 284.

"Rhys played really well and was solid all day," said ETSU head coach Fred Warren. "His length really helped him out there because this course plays over 7,400 (yards) and it's really wet so there's not a lot of roll. We played OK as a team, but we had to count some big numbers. We're still in it though and that's good considering this is probably the strongest field of the year so far with team's like the defending NCAA champion Stanford and highly ranked teams like Georgia, Oklahoma State and USC."

Along with Enoch, other ETSU results of note included 74s by sophomore Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland) and senior Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland), which tied them for 47th heading into Monday's second round.
