ETSU men unable to make up ground at Landfall Tradition
Saturday, November 01, 2003 WILMINGTON, N.C. (November 1, 2003) - Despite improving their team score by 11 strokes during the second round of the Landfall Tradition, the East Tennessee State men's golf team remained in 11th place following Saturday's play at the Country Club of Landfall's Nicklaus Course. The Buccaneers posted a team score of 294 - 11 strokes better than their score of 305 in the first round - as junior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales) tied a career-best with a team-high 68, moving him into a tie for 10th on the individual leaderboard with an overall score of 1-over-par. Along with Mills, freshman Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) is also tied for 10th at 1-over. Both Mills and Davies trail Tulsa's Chris Noel, who is the individual leader at 9-under. The team leader is Minnesota, which is currently 28 strokes in front of ETSU. As for the rest of the ETSU squad, junior Chase Baldwin (Plant City, Fla.) is 49th at 9-over, sophomore Andrew Paduch (Johnson City) is tied for 58th at 14-over, and junior Jeremy Hobson (Thonotosassa, Fla.) is tied for 60th at 15-over. The Landfall Tradition will conclude Sunday with final round play.
