, Puerto Rico (Feb. 28, 2005) - Freshman Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) fired another sub-70 round with a 68 on Monday in the second round of the Puerto Rico Classic, which is being played at the Westin Rio Mar Golf Club.
McNamara (69-68=137 -7) now stands in second place on the individual leaderboard, just one stroke back of Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares. With his efforts, McNamara helped lift the Bucs two spots in the team competition, as they now stand tied for 9th, 29 strokes back of first-place Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets are currently 18-under for the event and hold a four-stroke lead over Florida.
Along with McNamara, the rest of the Bucs' scores included another 1-over-par 73 from senior Cennydd Mills (Cardiff, Wales), which ties him for 28th at 2-over for the event. Meanwhile, sophomore Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) is currently tied for 46th after firing a 2-over 74 on Monday. Freshman Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) finished the day tied for 80th.
