ALPHARETTA, Ga. (April 10, 2006) - Junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) spent the early part of Monday's first round leading at the United States Collegiate Championship, but after posting a 4-under 68 to ultimately finish tied for third, the nation's fifth-ranked player battled to a 3-over 75 in the second round and is currently 10^th entering Tuesday's final round at the Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside Course.

Davies currently stands at 1-under, eight strokes back of leader Webb Simpson of Wake Forest, who posted rounds of 68 and 67 Monday. On the team leaderboard, Clemson holds a five-stroke advantage over Florida, and the 10^th-ranked Bucs are currently 10^th at 599 (294-305).

While Davies was the top ETSU finisher on day one, sophomore Gareth Shaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) ended the day tied for 37^th at 7-over, while freshman Adam Hodkinson (Dore, England) is tied for 47^th at 9-over. Other ETSU results included sophomore Cian McNamara (Limerick, Ireland) who is tied at 52^nd, while freshman Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland) is 55^th.
