JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 9, 2005) - ETSU junior Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) made it a clean sweep of the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Golfer of the Month awards for the fall season, as the conference office announced its November honorees Friday. It marks the third-straight award for Davies this year.

Davies shot his third consecutive sub-70 round in the third round at the Western Refining Collegiate All-America Golf Classic at the El Paso Country Club. Carding a final round 69 to finish 8-under-par for the event, Davies finished fourth on the leaderboard at the prestigious collegiate championship to highlight his November.

In 2005, the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic ranked as the No. 1 tournament in the country, according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. The 2005 field was extended to a record-high 32 golfers due to the 45 eligible All-Americans.  Some of the past champions include Ricky Barnes (2000), Notah Begay (1994), David Duval (1991), Matt Kuchar (1999), Davis Love III (1984), Chris Nallen (2003), Jerry Pate (1974) and Tiger Woods (1995). Alumni of the Golf Classic have gone on to earn more than $790 million on the PGA Tour. In all, 112 colleges and universities have participated in the tournament, raising more than $540,000 in scholarship money for the participating institutions.

For the fall, Davies finished ranked fifth nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, firing nine sub-70 during the first part of the season and finishing with a remarkable stroke average of 69.9. Davies is off for the rest of the fall and will return to action with his fellow Bucs at the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, P.R. on February 26.
