JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2006) - Bolstered by an impressive performance in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges to close out its fall season, the ETSU men's golf team has earned a Top 10 ranking for the first time this season.

In the most recent Golfstat.com computer ranking released on Wednesday, the Bucs moved up to No. 8 nationally, thanks mainly to a second-place finish in its final team event of the fall at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Ridges. The Bucs, who have played in only three events so far this season, finished eighth at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga., sixth at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala., and second at their host event.

The No. 8 ranking is the highest for ETSU since the 2001 season. A year ago, the Bucs reached as high as ninth in one poll and remained in the Top 10 for much of the spring season.
