ALPHARETTA, Ga. (April 7, 2009) - Sophomore Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) fired a final round 1-under-par 71 to finish tied for ninth on the individual leaderboard, helping to lift the 28th-ranked ETSU men's golf team to a 12th place finish on the final day of play in the U.S. Collegiate Championship at the Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside Course.
Enoch, who improved during each of the tournament's three rounds, moved up 17 spots on the leaderboard during Tuesday's third round. He ended the event seven strokes back of Alabama's Bud Cauley and UCLA's Erik Flores, who finished tied for first at 4-under 212 for the tournament.
As a team, the Bucs finished ahead of No. 8 Florida, No. 4 Indiana and No. 18 Florida State. The team championship went to No. 5 Clemson at 876, which bested No. 7 Stanford by two strokes.
Enoch's Top 10 finish was his fourth of the season, while freshman Michael Stewart (Troon, Scotland) posted the team's next best showing with a tie for 32nd at 9-over 225. Other ETSU results included a tie for 55th by sophomore Paul O'Kane (Castledawson, Northern Ireland) and a tie for 70th by junior Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland).
