JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2014) – Golfstat released its first rankings of the season on Wednesday and the ETSU men’s golf team cracked the top-25 as the Bucs rank No. 24, while the Blue and Gold have three golfers placed in the top-100 nationally.
ETSU, who has registered one tournament win and a pair of runner-up finishes in its first four events this season, gears up for the U.S. Collegiate Championship which begins Friday at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta.
The Bucs began the season by sweeping the team and individual titles at the Inverness Intercollegiate, and ETSU is coming off back-to-back second-place finishes at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate and Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate.
Individually, junior Adrian Meronk (Wroclaw, Poland), who has a pair of individual wins under his belt this year, is ranked No. 21 by Golfstat, while Chris Hickman (Centreville, Md.) and Rhys Pugh (Pontypridd, Wales) also rank in the top-100. Hickman is 75th and Pugh is 84th, respectively.
Meronk earned medalist honors at Inverness and at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, while also finishing third at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Hickman (T4th) and Pugh (T8th) also posted top-10 finishes this past weekend at the Blackthorn Club.
