NORMAN, Okla. (March 3, 2016) – The first spring Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking for the 2016 event was released on Thursday, and ETSU senior All-American Adrian Meronk (Wroclaw, Poland) was ranked sixth.
The top six golfers from the final ranking on April 15 from both the United States and Europe shall be among the 10 individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club June 24-26.
Meronk has placed in the top-10 in each of his last four tournaments, including a win at the 2015 Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. The Wroclaw, Poland native leads the team in scoring average (71.4), while he has posted four rounds in the 60s and 11 rounds of par or better so far this season. In addition, Meronk is also ranked No. 28 in the latest Golfstat rankings.
Using Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.
The next Arnold Palmer Cup Ranking will be released March 17.
