SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 16, 2016) – ETSU senior Adrian Meronk (Wroclaw, Poland) was named Southern Conference Golfer of the Week as the league office released its weekly award on Wednesday.
Meronk, who earned the second Player of the Week honor for his career, earned runner-up honors at last weekend’s Seminole Intercollegiate. The Buccaneer All-American finished the 54-hole tournament at 7-under-par 209 (67-73-69), marking his fifth straight top-10 finish and the 18th of his collegiate career.
Meronk was tied for the lead after 18 holes of competition, as he was the only golfer in the 78-player field to post a bogey-free round in Friday’s opener. After firing a 5-under 67 in the opening round, Meronk carded a 1-over 73 in round two and posted with a 3-under 69 in the final round. Meronk finished one shot back of Florida State’s Hank Lebioda – who earned medalist honors at 8-under-par 208. For the tournament, Meronk collected 33 pars and 14 birdies.
The ETSU men’s golf team returns to action on March 21-22 when the Buccaneers travel to Oregon for the Airstream Adventures Northwest Classic.
