SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 7, 2016) – ETSU senior All-American Adrian Meronk (Wroclaw, Poland) was named Southern Conference Golf of the Month for March as the league office released its monthly honors on Thursday.
Meronk, who earned back-to-back SoCon Golfer of the Week honors last month, totaled a stroke average of 70.0 after finishing runner-up at the Seminole Intercollegiate (March 11-12) and tying for third at the Airstream Adventures Northwest Classic (March 21-22). Meronk fired a 7-under-par 209 (67-73-69) at the Seminole Intercollegiate and followed that up with a 5-under-par 211 (68-70-73) a week later at the Northwest Classic.
The Buccaneer leader scored par or better in 97 of the 108 holes (90 percent) played in the month of March, while moving as high as No. 17 in the Golfstat rankings. Meronk recorded 33 pars and 14 birdies at the Seminole Intercollegiate and 41 pars and nine birdies at the Northwest Classic. Following his second and third-place finishes, Meronk – who had recorded seven straight top-10 finishes up until last week’s Mason Rudolph Championship (T14) – has now placed in the top-10 20 times in his collegiate career.
Meronk and the Bucs return to action next week when ETSU travels to West Virginia to defend its title at the Greenbrier Collegiate Invitational. The tournament, which will be held at The Old White TPC at Greenbrier, begins on Monday, April 11.
