JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 30, 2016) – For the third consecutive year, ETSU’s Adrian Meronk (Wroclaw, Poland) earned Division I PING All-Region honors as the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its honorees on Monday. A total of 156 players across six regions - Northeast, East, Southeast, Midwest, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2016.
Meronk, a member of the East Region, ranks 15th in the Golfstat Poll and cracked the Top 25 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings earlier this season. The Buccaneer leader won two tournaments in 2015-16 – including the Southern Conference Championship – en route to earning his second straight SoCon Player of the Year award. Following his two medalist honors, Meronk moved his career wins total to five, which is tied for second all-time in program history. The Wroclaw, Poland native also earned his second straight Palmer Cup selection, which begins June 24 at Formby Golf Club in Merseyside, England. Meronk – who was named a semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award – won both SoCon Player of the Month honors and was tabbed Player of the Week three times.
On the season, Meronk registered six top-3 finishes and 11 top-10 finishes this season. Meronk totaled a 70.64 scoring average in 14 tournaments played, while scoring in the 60s 16 times and posting a score of par or lower 27 times.
