BUIES CREEK, N.C. (Oct. 9, 2009) - Coming off of a heartbreaking loss at Mercer on Thursday, the ETSU men's soccer team will look to rebound as the Bucs take on Campbell Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Eakes Athletic Complex in Buies Creek, N.C.
The Bucs (1-5-3, 0-1-1 A-Sun) held both USC Upstate and Mercer scoreless in regulation as they have played dominating defense, but ETSU has hit a goal slump as the Bucs have not netted a ball in the last 397 minutes. ETSU is led by sophomores Sean Hoek (Newburgh, Ind.) and Jaron Westbrook (Round Rock, Texas). Hoek leads the team with two goals, while Westbrook has the lone game-winner for the Bucs.
ETSU lost its only match against the Camels last year, 1-0. Campbell got the game winner in the 65th minute on a Richard Jata goal.
The Camels (3-6-1, 2-0-1 A-Sun) are in second place in the Atlantic Sun with seven points after defeating USC Upstate and Belmont. Campbell earned a draw against Lipscomb in the Camels first conference match. The Camels are led by Mitchell Cardenas as he leads the team with three goals, three assists and nine points.
