Fubara scored in quarters, Doumbe netted goal in semis
FT. MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 12, 2012) – ETSU men’s soccer senior Franck Doumbe (Silver Spring, Md.) and junior Itode Fubara (Ogbema, Nigeria) were named to the Atlantic Sun All-Tournament Team on Sunday afternoon following FGCU’s win over Mercer in the final, 1-0
Doumbe netted ETSU’s goal in the 74th minute of the semifinals, putting ETSU ahead, 1-0, at the time. The score was the third of Doumbe’s season the fifth of his career. Fubara helped land the Buccaneers in the semifinals, scoring in the fifth minute of Wednesday’s quarterfinal against Jacksonville to lift ETSU to victory, 1-0. The goal was Fubara’s second of the season, and seventh of his three-year career.
Fubara’s all-tournament selection is his second. In 2010, Fubara was named A-Sun Tournament MVP.
