Saturday, September 12, 2009

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 12, 2009) - The ETSU men's soccer team is set to face Virginia Tech Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Hilton Garden Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.

The Bucs (1-1-1) are coming off of a tough loss to Radford on the road. Sophomore Jaron Westbrook (Round Rock, Texas) leads the team in points (3) and game-winning goals (1).

This is the first meeting between ETSU and Virginia Tech. The Buccaneers are 0-1 all-time against ACC opponents falling to North Carolina on the road a year ago.

The Hokies (1-2-1) dropped a close 1-0 match to 11th ranked South Florida in game one of the Hilton Garden Hokie Invitational on Friday. Virginia Tech is led by senior James Gilson and junior Charlie Campbell. Gilson leads the team in points with three, while Campbell has the Hokies only game-winner.
