ETSU men's soccer set for NCAA First Round match-up with College of Charleston

(Nov. 17, 2010) - The ETSU men's soccer team is set to face College of Charleston in the first round of the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament Thursday at 7 p.m. at Patriot Park in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
The Bucs (15-5-0, 7-2-0 A-Sun) come into the tournament having won eight of their last nine contests including two overtime wins in the Atlantic Sun Tournament.
The contest is the first-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament for ETSU, while the Cougars are making their fifth trip to the tournament and first since 2004. This is the first meeting between the two teams. ETSU and CofC faced four common teams in 2010, with the Bucs going 3-2-0 against those opponents, while the Cougars were 1-1-2 in the contests.
College of Charleston (10-4-3, 4-1-2 SoCon) received an at-large bid into the tournament after dropping its first round contest in the Southern Conference Tournament to Davidson 3-1. The Cougars have gone 0-2-1 in their last three matches after going undefeated in 11 straight games.
