Two Bucs named to NSCAA All-South Region Teams

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 9, 2010) - Senior Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and junior Aaron Schoenfeld (Knoxville, Tenn.) received NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-South Region Second Team honors after their outstanding performances in 2010, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced on Thursday.
 
The regional award is the first for an ETSU men's soccer player as the Bucs posted a program-best 15 wins after defeating Stetson for the Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Tournament Championship.
 
Reis helped anchor a Buccaneer defense that stymied its opposition posting nine shutouts on the year, including shutouts in three of the last four matches of the season. The senior captain also tallied three goals, three assists and nine points in 2010, and had the game-winner in double overtime against Clemson to give ETSU its first win against an ACC foe.
 
Schoenfeld was equally as impressive for the Bucs as he had a team-best seven goals and 17 points. The Knoxville, Tenn. native joined Reis as the first ETSU duo to be named A-Sun Pre-season All-Conference and First Team All-Conference in the same season. Schoenfeld was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Sept. 27 after notching back-to-back overtime game winners against Marshall and UNC Asheville.
