WILTON, Conn. (Sept. 6, 2012) – On the heels of his three-goal week, ETSU men’s soccer junior David Geno (Kingsport, Tenn.) made headlines once again as one of 11 members to Soccer America’s Men’s Team of the Week.
The Dobyns-Bennett High School product had a historic week, beginning last Tuesday when he scored two goals and tallied an assist against UNC Greensboro to break the ETSU record for points in a single game. On Sunday, he capped off ETSU’s third consecutive victory with the golden goal in the 108th minute to help the Bucs defeat then-No. 17 UAB, 1-0.
Geno’s recognitions began on Tuesday, when he was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week and included as one of 12 members to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. On Wednesday, the Tennessee Sports Writers Association declared him its Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.
ETSU (3-1-0) goes for its fourth consecutive victory on Saturday, as it hosts Radford (2-0-1) inside Summers-Taylor Stadium at 7 p.m.
