COLUMBIA, S.C. (Aug. 30, 2013) – The ETSU men’s soccer team dropped its 2013 season opener as the Bucs suffered a 1-0 setback at South Carolina Friday night at Stone Stadium.

A 25th minute goal by Jeffrey Torda gave the Gamecocks a 1-0 lead and the Bucs were unable to net an equalizer on six shot attempts.

Reigning Atlantic Sun Goalkeeper of the Year Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) recorded four saves on nine South Carolina shots.

Senior Luis Calzadilla (Caracas, Venezuela) paced the Bucs with two shots. Donte Brangman (Southampton, Bermuda), Thibault Civalier (Nice, France), Nate Hodges (Meridian, Miss.), and Blaike Woodruff (Georgetown, Texas) each had one shot.

The Bucs return to action Thursday night when ETSU hosts Kentucky in its home opener at 7 p.m. from Summers-Taylor Stadium.
