Coulter tabbed as TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2013) – East Tennessee State University’s Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) earned Men’s Soccer Player of the Week accolades from the Tennessee Sportswriters Association after posting his third and fourth consecutive shutouts in goal for the Bucs.

ETSU played to a scoreless draw against Memphis, with Coulter making six saves in net and facing 18 total shots in the match. The Dublin, Ireland, native then helped the Bucs to a 1-0 victory over eighth-ranked UAB, the nation’s highest-scoring offense, collecting a pair of saves and facing eight shots in the match.

Coulter has a 0.18 goals-against-average this season and a .941 save percentage, both marks that rank in the Top 10 nationally. ETSU is 2-1-2 overall, allowing a total of one goal in five matches, that in a 1-0 loss against South Carolina. His streak of not allowing a goal stands at 265:02 heading into the club’s only match this week, Friday at home against Furman.
