RADFORD, Va. (Sept. 29, 2013) - In its final non-conference match of the season, ETSU played to a scoreless draw against Radford Sunday night at Cupp Stadium.
Tthe Buccaneers (2-3-3) outshot Radford in the second half, 6-4, but were unable to find the scoring column.
ETSU faced 23 shots from the Highlanders (3-3-2), allowing none to find the back of the net.
"Our guys really had to work hard," head coach Scott Calabrese said. "They defended well and played a gritty game throughout. I am very proud of their performance."
Reigning Atlantic Sun Goalkeeper of the Year Ryan Coulter (Dublin, Ireland) made seven saves en route to recording his fifth shutout of the season. The senior co-captain made several impressive stops, including a save in the final minute of the second overtime to help ETSU come away with the draw.
Senior Jonny Campbell (Johnson City, Tenn.) paced the Bucs with four shots on the day.
ETSU will be back in action when it opens conference play at North Florida Friday, Oct. 4 at 7:00 p.m.
"With a difficult non-conference schedule behind us, our attention goes to conference play," Calabrese said. "Our record is now 0-0-0. The University of North Florida is our main focus."
