SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 29, 2014) - Having won two of its last three contests, the ETSU men's soccer team will visit Spartanburg, S.C., Tuesday night as the Buccaneers open Southern Conference play at Wofford.
GETTING UP TO SPEED
Following back-to-back wins over Conference USA opponents, the Buccaneers (4-3) suffered a 4-2 setback at Winthrop Tuesday, Sept. 23.
In the loss, the Bucs were unable to slow Winthrop's potent scoring offense, which ranks sixth in the nation (2.44). Prior to that contest, ETSU had not surrended more than two goals in a game this season.
Redshirt sophomore Joao Ramalho (Monte Santo, Brazil) paces the Bucs' offense, ranking eighth in the nation for goals per game (0.86). Ramalho leads ETSU with 13 points (6G, 1A).
Nine other ETSU players have found the scoring column, including redshirt junior Emmanuel Wilson (Memphis, Tenn.) and sophomore William Nordenstrom (Linkoping, Sweden), who have each recorded one goal and one assist on the year.
Wofford Terriers - Southern Conference - Spartanburg, S.C.
The Bucs will meet yet another nationally-ranked scoring offense when they visit Wofford Tuesday.
The Terriers' (4-3) offense ranks 26th in the country, averaging two goals per contest.
