JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 20, 2015) – Junior Joao Ramalho (Monte Santo, Brazil) was picked for the All-SoCon preseason team as the only ETSU representative on Thursday. Ramalho was the SoCon Player of the Year last year and was second in the conference with 24 points and 11 goals.
As a sophomore, Ramalho was one of two Bucs last season to play and start all 18 games. He led ETSU in shots taken with 83 attempts with 44 being on goal, and he led the team in scoring by picking up 11 of the 25 goals on the season. Ramalho led the team in points last season by accumulating 24 points, nearly 36 percent of ETSU’s points all season.
Ramalho has already made an early impression in ETSU’s first exhibition game against King University. He had five shots with two on goal and one finding the back of the net. He only saw action for about 30 minutes in the first half before being relieved.
