SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 6, 2016) – After scoring five points with two goals and an assist in two victories this week, ETSU men’s soccer player Cameron Woodfin (Old Hickory, Tenn.) claimed SoCon Player of the Week honors, which was announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Woodfin drilled both game-winning goals over George Mason and Appalachian State this week while also tallying an assist versus Mason. He scored the go-ahead goal against the Patriots in the 78th minute to break the second tie of the match and assisted Javier Alberto (Johnson City, Tenn.) in the 37th minute.
With the Bucs taking only one shot in the first half against Appalachian State, Woodfin scored the decisive goal over the Mountaineers in the 50th minute, and ETSU went on to win 1-0 over ASU for their first win over the Sun Belt foe since 2010.
The Old Hickory, Tenn. native has scored three goals and accumulated six assists in his third season for the Blue and Gold. He currently leads the SoCon in points (5) and is tied for the lead with a pair of goals.
ETSU (2-1) will travel to Morgantown, W.V. to face No. 24 West Virginia (2-1) with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on Sept. 9.
