ATLANTA (October 12, 2003) - The East Tennessee State men's tennis team wrapped up action at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a first place winner in singles B competition, while a pair took second in doubles A action. Fernando Fiuri (Villa Maria, Argentina) defeated Georgia Tech's Noah Tyler 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 to win in the singles B finals. The duo of Oscar Posada (Valencia, Venezuela) and Alejandro Salazar (Arequipa, Peru) advanced to the finals after defeating Trevor McLeod and Joao Menano from Georgia Tech, 8-4, but fell in the finals to second seeded Miha Lisac and Jamie Rodriguez from Georgia State University 8-6. Fall tournament action will continue for the Buccaneers as they travel to Columbia, S.C. to participate in the Gamecock Invitational next weekend October 17th thru the 19th.
