MACON, Ga. (April 10, 2007) - Following two, straight-set victories at the No.1 and No.2 singles positions, ETSU's Predrag Burmazovic (Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro) has been selected at the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week, league officials announced today.
Burmazovic, a junior, business major, earned his No.1 singles win in conference action against Mercer's Tobias Ohrstrom (6-3, 6-3) and then moved to No.2 singles to best UAB's Johannes Spangenberg (6-4, 6-3).
The honor is the first of its kind of Burmazovic, and marks the fifth time this season that an ETSU student-athlete has been selected at the POTW this season. He is currently 25-12 on the year and has amassed a 13-6 record in dual play. He is also 7-1 in A-Sun action.
The Atlantic Sun Player of the Week is announced every Tuesday during the 2007 tennis season.
