ATHENS, Ga. (May 25, 2010) - Two weeks removed from his final contest with the ETSU men's tennis team this spring, junior Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillaume, France) finally got word who he will play in the upcoming NCAA Singles Championships this week, as Buc upperclassman drew Florida's Alexandre Lacroix in Wednesday's first round.
The first round consists of a 64 competitor bracket with Bottoni and Lacroix swinging into action with a 11:30 a.m. contest tomorrow morning at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia campus.
Bottoni - who earned a berth in the field as the automatic qualifier from the Atlantic Sun Conference - enters the match ranked 104th in the latest ITA poll. The Bois Guillaume,
Lacroix - a 2009 ITA All-American - enters the Championship as the eighth overall seed. The 2010 First-Team All-Southeastern Conference selection sits with a 33-10 record this year, while boasting an even more impressive 22-9 mark this season against nationally ranked players.
