Bucs and Lady Bucs begin Saturday in semifinals
MACON, Ga. (April 14, 2013) – The field is set for the 2013 Atlantic Sun Tennis Championships, hosted by ETSU at the newly built ETSU Tennis Complex, as the conference office unveiled matchups and times following Saturday’s regular season finales.
The 74th-ranked ETSU men (11-6, 7-1 A-Sun) earned the No. 2 seed and will begin play on Saturday in the semifinals against the winner of No. 3 Stetson (15-3, 6-2 A-Sun) and No. 6 Lipscomb (7-11, 3-5 A-Sun). The Hatters and Bisons close out the tournament’s opening day, competing on Friday at 5 p.m.
The top-seeded ETSU women (13-5, 8-0 A-Sun) ran the table to earn the regular season championship – its sixth such championship and third perfect A-Sun season. The Lady Bucs serve up Saturday’s semifinal round at 9 a.m., against the winner of No. 4 seed Stetson (10-9, 5-3 A-Sun) and No. 5 FGCU (10-7, 4-4 A-Sun). The Hatters and Eagles kickoff the tournament Friday in the quarterfinals at 9 a.m.
The men’s and women’s finals are scheduled for Sunday. The ladies’ championship begins at 10 a.m., followed by the gentlemen’s at 1 p.m.
