Bucs Repeat as SoCon Champions

MACON, Ga. (April 20, 2019) – At the end of a long, weather-driven weekend it was the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Team that was crowned as the 2019 Southern Conference Tournament Champions for the second consecutive year. The Bucs outlasted Furman with a 4-2 victory as five of the six matches went into a tiebreaking set. ETSU was named kings of the SoCon Tennis world for the ninth time in program history, defeating the Paladins in the title match for the second consecutive season.


Bucs Surge into SoCon Championship

MACON, Ga. (April 20, 2019) – After nearly a 24-hour waiting period, the ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Tennis team finally concluded the Southern Conference semifinals match, dominating Wofford by the final of 4-0. With the win, the Bucs locked their place into the SoCon Championship match for the second consecutive season. The semifinal match was delayed nearly 24 hours from its original start time as rain spread across the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.


ETSU’s Semifinal Match Pushed to Saturday

MACON, Ga. (April 19, 2019) – The ETSU Men’s Tennis team will have to wait another day to fight for a spot in the Southern Conference Championship as weather swept across the Southeast today, suspending play. The Bucs were set to face Wofford in the semifinal match at 2 p.m., but saw that time continue to be pushed back as the John Drew Smith Tennis Center fought to stay dry.


ETSU Cruises into SoCon Semis

MACON, Ga. (April 18, 2019) – The ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Tennis made quick work of The Citadel in the opening round of the 2019 Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship, defeating the Bulldogs by the final of 4-0. The match lasted just under an hour-and-a-half as the Bucs cruised into the semifinals on Friday, April 19.


ETSU Aims to Repeat as SoCon Champs

MACON, Ga. (April 17, 2019) – The ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Tennis team will jump start the 2019 Southern Conference tournament with a showdown against The Citadel on Thursday, April 18 at 1 p.m. The Bucs enter the tournament as the top seed and the Bulldogs have been labeled as the eight seed. The match will be played at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center in Macon, Ga.


ETSU Claims Six SoCon Postseason Awards

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 16, 2019) – In conjunction with the upcoming 2019 Southern Conference Tournament, the league office announced the 2019 SoCon Men’s Tennis Postseason Awards on Tuesday afternoon. The Bucs laid claim to six postseason accolades, featuring four all-conference singles players and one all-conference doubles tandem.


Bucs Lock up Top Seed in Upcoming Tournament

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 14, 2019) – The Southern Conference announced the official seedings for the upcoming 2019 SoCon Tournament Championship in Macon, Ga. ETSU won the league’s regular-season crown and earned the top seed in the eight-team tournament that will be held Thursday, April 18, through Saturday, April 20, at the John Drew Tennis Center in Macon, Georgia.


Bucs Dominate on Senior Day

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 13, 2019) – The ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, cruising to a 6-1 victory over The Citadel in the seniors’ final ride with the program. The season culminated with an undefeated Southern Conference record as well as the outright 2019 Regular Season SoCon Title. The regular season title is the 15th regular season championship in program history and the ninth SoCon Regular Season title in school history.


Bucs Clinch Share of SoCon Regular-Season Title

MACON, Ga. (April 12, 2019) – The ETSU Buccaneers Men’s Tennis team clinched at least a share of the 2019 Southern Conference Regular Season Title on Friday afternoon in Macon, Ga. after a 4-3 victory over the Mercer Bears. The Bucs did what champions do, winning the close battles when it comes down to the wire after clinching the match in the final singles contest. The 4-3 victory was the closest SoCon match of the season for the Bucs and the first 4-3 victory since defeating Fresno State by the same score earlier this season on Feb. 16.
