10 for 10: Bucs win tenth straight conference tournament title Sunday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 24, 2016) – The top-seeded ETSU men’s tennis team made it 10 for 10 Sunday as it won its tenth consecutive conference tournament championship and in doing so will advance to its tenth straight NCAA Tournament. The Bucs, who defeated Furman in the title match 4-0, have now won 15 straight matches and improve their record overall to 18-5.


Bucs blank Wofford, 4-0, to earn spot in SoCon title match

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 23, 2016) – A day after shutting out The Citadel, 4-0, in the opening round of the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship, the ETSU men’s tennis team blanked Wofford by the same score Saturday in the tournament’s semifinal round. The Bucs notch their 14th straight win with the victory and earn a spot in the championship match Sunday.


Bucs sweep The Citadel, 4-0, to advance to SoCon semifinals

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 22, 2016) – The top-seeded ETSU men’s tennis team shut out No. 8 seed The Citadel, 4-0, Friday morning to advance to the semifinals in Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship. The win, which is ETSU’s 13th straight victory, moves the Bucs’ record to 16-5 this season.


No. 1 ETSU to take on eighth-seeded The Citadel in SoCon quarterfinals

(April 21, 2016) – ETSU's quest for a tenth consecutive conference tournament championship will begin Friday as the Bucs take on eighth-seeded The Citadel in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship. First serve against the Bulldogs is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the Champion’s Club in Chattanooga.


Biosca named Player of the Year; Bucs earn eight All-SoCon selections

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 19, 2016) – After winning the SoCon regular season championship Saturday, the 52nd-ranked ETSU men’s tennis team was well represented Tuesday when the league office announced the SoCon’s all-conference teams. In total eight members of the team were honored by the SoCon. Headlining the honorees were David Biosca (Player of the Year), Wenceslao Albin (Freshman of the Year) and Yaser Zaatini (Coach of the Year).


Men’s Tennis clinches SoCon regular season title Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 16, 2016) – The 52nd-ranked ETSU men’s tennis team won its second consecutive Southern Conference regular season championship Saturday with a 7-0 win at The Citadel. It is the 16th regular season championship in the program’s history and its fifth in the last six seasons.


No. 52 ETSU wraps up regular season at The Citadel Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. (April 15, 2016) – The 52nd-ranked ETSU men’s tennis team will wrap up its regular season Saturday at The Citadel. The Bucs, who are 14-5 overall and 6-0 in the SoCon, will have the opportunity to clinch the regular season SoCon Championship. It would be the Bucs’ 16th regular season conference title in program history.


ETSU Volleyball and Men’s Tennis teams earn NCAA APR recognition

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 13, 2016) – The ETSU volleyball and men’s tennis teams earned a special public recognition on Wednesday, as both squads ranked among the top 10 percent of the nation’s programs in their respective sports in the NCAA’s annual Academic Progress Rate.


Herrera tabbed SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 12, 2016) – ETSU men’s tennis player Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) was named the SoCon Player of the Week by the league office Tuesday. Herrera, who won the same award on Feb. 9, becomes the second Buc in as many weeks to win the conference’s player of the week award as David Biosca (Sant Fruitos De Bage, Spain) received the same award on April 6.
