Johnson City, Tenn. -- The men's tennis team swept the Winthrop Eagles, 7-0, in Rock Hill, S.C. The win by ETSU improves the Bucs to 10-5 on the season.
ETSU opened the match with a sweep of the doubles matches to grab the lone doubles point. The Bucs followed up with wins in all six singles matches to record their sixth shutout of an opponent this season.
"Doubles really came together and got us started this afternoon," said ETSU Head Coach Dave Mullins. "The doubles teams are beginning to play like I feel we can and they were dominating. We had a great effort from everyone in singles. Especially Ricardo Nava coming back to win after losing the first set and Matt Keeter pulling out two tiebreakers. Tomorrow's match with Davidson will be a tough conference match and we are looking forward to that."
