Men's Tennis Earns ITA National Rankings

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The men's tennis program will begin its spring season ranked 52nd nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. It is the highest ranking in program history.

The Buccaneers are ranked No. 6 in Region II, also its best rankings in school history.

Two singles players and one doubles team also earned recognition. Junior Gustavo Gomez (Balcarce, Argentina) will begin the spring ranked 67th nationally. He also earned a No. 14 ranking in Region II. Gomez finished last season ranked 97th in the nation.

The other ETSU singles player that earned a ranking was freshman Marcos Pavlovich (Otamendi, Argentina). Pavlovich is ranked No. 16 in Region II. The doubles team of Gomez and sophomore Roberto Fernandez (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is ranked No. 7 in Region II.

ETSU will open its spring season at Tennessee on January 15.
